Kindergarten Parents,
Welcome to the Lyndwood Learning Center for another exciting school year. Your children are probably getting anxious to meet their new teachers, and you're probably eager to know what will be expected of them. Since we believe effective parent-teacher communication is essential to every child's success in school, we're inviting you to attend our Orientation Night scheduled for Thursday, August 20st, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. The evening should provide an excellent opportunity for you to meet your children's teachers. We hope to see you there!
Schedule:
Session 1: 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
4:00 - 4:15 pm, Session 1 - Parent Registration, Hallway
4:15 - 4:30 pm, Session 1 - Welcome/Introductions, Cafeteria
4:30 - 5:00 pm, Session 1 - Visit Classroom/Bus Ride, Classrooms/Bus
Session 2: 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.
5:00 - 5:15 pm, Session 2 - Parent Registration, Hallway
5:15 - 5:30 pm, Session 2 - Welcome/Introductions, Cafeteria
5:30 - 6:00 pm, Session 2 -Visit Classrooms/Bus Ride, Classrooms/Bus
Note: All students will have an opportunity to ride the school bus after their session.
Parents will report to their children's homerooms following the Welcome. Homeroom teachers will explain the children's daily schedules, lunch procedures, and attendance requirements. They will then discuss course requirements, grading practices, student discipline, and daily procedures. During that time, parents are asked not to engage the teacher in a conference. If one is necessary, an appointment can be scheduled for another time.

Dear Hanover Area School District Community,
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic loss of one of our students, Zachary Martz a high school student at our Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School. Our deepest sympathy and thoughts are with Zachary’s family, friends, and loved ones as they navigate this unimaginable pain.
The loss of a young person deeply affects our entire school community. Because children and teenagers process grief in different ways, our Crisis Response Team members have been mobilized and will be available at the Hanover Area Jr./Sr. High School tomorrow in the Trauma Suite Conference Room, Thursday, July 30th from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. to provide support, counseling, and a safe space for any student or staff member who needs someone to talk to.
We encourage you to talk with your child about their feelings and reactions to this news. If you feel your child is showing signs of unusual stress, sadness, or distress, please reach out to our Crisis Response Team members provided in this correspondence to connect your family with appropriate school or community resources.

Hanover Area Virtual Academy Registration:
2026-2027. Enrollment closes August 14, 2026.
Please complete this form to register your child for the Hanover Area Virtual Academy for 2026-2027 school year. Please be sure to complete one for each child you wish to enroll.
NEW INFORMATION: Once the registration is complete, parent(s) and student(s) will be required to attend a meeting with guidance and/or the principal to review the program and the code of conduct/student agreement.
**District attendance policies are strictly enforced. Students are expected to work in each course daily and adhere to deadlines. Attendance requires at least three hours of time on activities in the course management system daily. Less than 3 hours is marked absent for the day.
Plagiarism/use of AI is strictly prohibited. First offense is assigned a zero for the assignment/discussion. Multiple offenses will result in your child being removed from the virtual program and your child will be required to return to the building for in-person instruction.
