Notice to Families and Staff - Lee Park Elementary Air Quality Update

On October 10, 2025, the Hanover Area School District conducted an annual routine air quality test at Lee Park Elementary School, which reported no concerns.

On October 23, 2025, an interior water pipe burst occurred within the building. Following cleanup and sanitization, as a precautionary measure, a secondary air quality test was performed on October 27, 2025. Those tests indicated the presence of mold spores that require further remediation.

As a result, to ensure the safety of all students and staff, the Hanover Area School District will conduct additional testing and professional cleanup. During this time, Lee Park Elementary will transition to remote (virtual) instruction until midweek next week.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for our students and staff.

Regards,

Nathan Barrett
Superintendent of Schools

CHIP covers uninsured children and teens up to age 19 – and no family earns too much to qualify. With nearly 128,000 uninsured children in Pennsylvania, this is great news for families! CHIP provides quality, comprehensive health insurance for routine doctor’s visits, prescriptions, dental, eye care, eyeglasses, mental health, and much more. CHIP covers uninsured kids who are not eligible for Medical Assistance. For many families, CHIP is free – for others, it is low cost.
