IRS Resources for the 2025 Tax Return Season.
The Earned Income Tax Credit has strengthened American working families for 50 years. EITC Awareness Day is Friday, January 31st. We estimate that four out of five workers claim the EITC, which means millions of eligible taxpayers are putting EITC dollars to work for them. This tax credit puts more money into local economies and helps cover the costs of food, child care, gas, and more. As of December 2024, more than 23 million workers and families received about $64 billion in EITC. The average amount of EITC received nationwide in tax year 2023 was about $2,743. However, there are still millions of people not taking advantage of this valuable credit. Help IRS reach the workers who qualify but miss out on thousands of dollars every year without the EITC. Let them know about the credit and motivate them to join the four out of five people who file and claim the credit. This includes workers who are: Living in rural areas, Self-employed, Receiving certain disability pensions or have children with disabilities, Without a qualifying child, Not proficient in English
Grandparents raising their grandchildren, Recently divorced, unemployed or experienced other changes to their marital, financial, or parental status

CHIP covers uninsured children and teens up to age 19 – and no family earns too much to qualify. With nearly 128,000 uninsured children in Pennsylvania, this is great news for families!
CHIP provides quality, comprehensive health insurance for routine doctor’s visits, prescriptions, dental, eye care, eyeglasses, mental health, and much more. CHIP covers uninsured kids who are not eligible for Medical Assistance. For many families, CHIP is free – for others, it is low cost.
